Active threat soft drill

Training Description

The Active Threat Soft Drill is a low-stress, educational experience designed to help participants walk through active attack response protocols in a controlled, supportive environment. This drill reinforces the DEFENSE survival strategy learned in the Active Threat Response (ATR) course, allowing participants to rehearse their actions step by step. Unlike high-intensity simulation training, this drill does not involve Simunitions, airsoft, or other projectiles and is not designed to induce stress. Instead, it serves as a valuable learning exercise to improve preparedness and confidence in responding to an active threat.

Course Topics

  • Reinforcing the Active Threat Survival Strategy: Practical application of learned response techniques
  • Walk-Through Rehearsals: Guided practice of key actions in a controlled setting
  • Decision-Making Under Pressure: Coaching participants on choosing the best course of action in various scenarios
  • Environmental Considerations: Identifying escape routes, cover options, and safe areas within different spaces
  • Team Coordination and Communication: Practicing response roles and working effectively with others during an incident
  • Preparedness Without Stress Induction: A supportive, educational approach to active threat training
