Citizen Training and Services

CPR and aed certification

Training Description

In the aftermath of an accident or violent attack, immediate medical intervention can mean the difference between life and death. When seconds count, emergency medical services are often minutes away. The Basic Trauma Care course equips participants with essential lifesaving skills to bridge that critical gap, empowering them to act confidently and competently in medical emergencies.

This training includes First Aid instruction, the nationally recognized “Stop the Bleed” program for controlling severe bleeding, and additional lifesaving techniques such as chest seal application, airway management, and patient stabilization for transport. The course also features a non-certification CPR and AED module, enhancing participants’ ability to respond to cardiac emergencies. Hands-on simulations ensure participants can apply their skills effectively in high-stress situations.

Course Topics

  • Severe Bleeding Control: Techniques from the “Stop the Bleed” program, including tourniquet application and wound packing
  • Airway Management: Strategies to maintain open airways and assist breathing in emergencies
  • Chest Seal Application: How to treat penetrating chest injuries to prevent further complications
  • Patient Stabilization for Transport: Best practices for minimizing harm and improving survival while waiting for EMS
  • Basic First Aid: Treatment of common traumatic injuries, including fractures, burns, and shock
  • CPR & AED (Non-Certification Module): Responding to cardiac emergencies with essential life-saving interventions
